Texture Collection
What to do:
- Collect different items around your facility or home that have different textures—rough, smooth, bumpy, shiny, furry, sticky, etc. Here are some things you might use: sandpaper, aluminum foil, felt, cotton ball, sponge, wash cloth, tape, vinyl, beans, or un-popped pop corn.
- Glue samples of the item securely into the bottom of each section of an egg carton.
- Children will enjoy feeling and talking about the different things in the collection.
- Make sure that each item is firmly glued into the egg carton each time children play with it.
