Snowflake Cutouts

What to do

  1. Cut an 8 ½ - by 11-inch sheet of typing paper into a square.
  2. Have children fold square in half twice to form a smaller square.
  3. Have children cut sections, corners and grooves out of the square’s side. When they open the paper up, they will have an interesting snowflake pattern.

Variation:

  • This procedure can be used to make a number of interesting shapes.
  • Have children fold the paper in a variety of ways and see what the resulting shapes look like.
