Sandpaper Art
What to do:
- Use crayons to make heavy marks or a design on small 4-inch to 6-inch squares of sandpaper. Instruct children to press hard and make solid colored forms.
- When the sandpaper is fairly well covered with crayon marks, it can be heated in a warm oven at 250°F for 10 to 15 seconds until the crayon melts. The crayon wax will harden and produce an interesting effect.
Variation:
- Sandpaper art may be pasted on heavy-weight paper to make cards or matted and framed as a small picture.
