Paint Creeps

What to do:

  1. Give each child a piece of blotter paper and a cotton swab.
  2. Show children how to dip just the cotton part of the swab into food coloring then draw with it on the blotter paper.
  3. Suggest that children draw whatever pictures are in their heads, letting the new and strange medium have its own effect on the content of their drawings. Ask children, “What happens when you dip a swab into the yellow color, then into the red one?”
