Musical Rhythm Plates

What to do:

Let children make musical rhythm shakers.

  1. Give children two small paper plates or aluminum pie tins.
  2. Have children add a few small items to paper plates or pie tins, such as beans, buttons, small purls, or macaroni.
  3. Staple or lace the two plates together securely.
  4. Shake the instrument to music or to changed words.
  • Due to choking hazards, this activity is not intended for children under 3 years of age.
