Ice Cube Melt

What to do:

  1. Ask children to put an ice cube into unbreakable containers and place them around the room or outside in different places.
  2. Watch and compare how fast the ice melts in each place—discuss why it melted faster or slower, and how you could change that.
  3. Older children can chart how long it takes for the ice to melt in the different locations.
