Finish My Picture
What to do:
- Give children a basic pattern and ask them to complete the picture their very own way. They may wish to close their eyes for a few minutes and think about all the ways the picture could be completed before they start.
Variations:
- Vary the size of the design and the size of the paper.
- Use colored pencils for older children, crayons or markers for younger children.
- Talk about the pictures afterwards so that children come to appreciate that there are many possible responses – not just one way to create a picture.
