Dip’n Dye Butterfly

What to do:

  1. Place a strong mixture of food coloring and water in small, shallow cups.
  2. Fold paper coffee filters several times and quickly dip corners into the food coloring mixture. Food coloring can stain clothes, so make sure children have on smocks.
  3. Unfold paper and allow to dry.
  4. Gather coffee filter in the middle and secure with the clothespin.
  5. If children want, they can draw a face on the butterfly with a marker and add pipe cleaner antennae.
  6. You can use multi-colored tissue paper instead of dying the coffee filters.
