Consonant Collage
What to do:
- This is used in conjunction with the study of words that begin with consonant sounds. After practicing letter sounds, the children may hunt through magazines for pictures of things that begin with these sounds.
- Next, children can paste all the pictures that begin with the letter “B” on the B page. For example, they may find pictures of bats, balls, boys, birds, bicycles, and so forth.
- By the end of the year the children may have completed a book with a collage page for each sound.
Variation:
- Children may make individual collages or a group collage.
